Exploring Rural Ireland County Cavan

Today we went for a short drive to get out of the house. It was so wet this weekend but between the showers the blue skies emerged and allowed me to take some photographs. We stayed local to home and visited Kilmore Cathedral which is such a beautiful setting right in the heart of the countryside. There is a wealth of heritage all around the site-the Cathedral, Holy Well, See House, Bishop's Palace, Motte and Bailey and Bishop Bedell's Tree which is believed to be the oldest sycamore tree in Ireland planted in approximately 1632. Bishop Bedell is buried on site and you can visit his tomb also.

Life Lately... cat, handbags and sunsets...

Another weekend spent at home...February is flying by... I have gotten into a bit of a rut lately which has resulted in very little blogging.. But I'm back again. Below are a few images of what I have been up to lately...
The weather has been quite dull so again apologies for the gloomy photos..
First up, Millie our little kitten posed for me on the farm... I think she might have a career in modelling- what do you think???

I needed a new bag for everyday and picked up this one from Oasis, it is reversible which is great, tan leather on one side and black on the other side- I am really loving it. It is really practicable and has a small purse attached too.

Winter always has the nicest sunsets. Here in Ireland they are so quick, when I see the sun setting I literally have to run out the door with my camera in hand. I try to make it across the road and up the lane for a landscape shot over the lake. Last week I didn't make it that far so I just took this one from my front door and to be honest it didn't disappoint. I am so grateful to live in such a lovely place and it's a photo like this that makes me appreciate nature more than ever.

Tea Party

I'm rubbish with cameras and with the lack of good light these days my photographs look quite dull. I spent today pottering about the house, cooking, cleaning and spending time with family (Just what I enjoy). Now I'm snuggled on the couch with a nice mug of tea as it is very cold out. I treated myself to this lovely book-The Vintage Tea Party Book by Angel Adoree. I loved her TV series in which herself and her husband Dick Strawbridge followed their dreams and bought the beautiful but run down Chateau-de-la-Motte Husson  in France which they restored beautifully. I'm looking forward to reading this book and trying out some of the tea party ideas. I also bought some more Cartwright and Butler Biscuits which come in the prettiest of tins-I now have a blue and  pink tin and they are really good value too and oh so yum... Whenever I get around to trying out some of the tea party ideas I'll photograph them for you... until next time my friends....
